Berea-Midpark bounced back from an opening-set loss to defeat Midview 3-1 on Thursday, Aug. 27, at 38199 Capel Rd, Grafton, OH 44044. The Titans dropped the first set 25-18 before answering with three consecutive victories, 25-22, 25-19 and 25-18, to complete an impressive road turnaround.
After needing time to find their rhythm, the Titans settled in and began playing their preferred style. All-out hustle, aggressive serving and assertive attacking changed the flow of the match. Berea-Midpark responded to the early setback with composure, refusing to allow one difficult set to shape the rest of the evening.
The second set provided the pivotal response. With little room separating the teams, Berea-Midpark stayed steady through the pressure and earned a 25-22 win to even the match. The Titans extended points with gritty defense, then used smart offensive decisions to finish long rallies. That combination of effort and high volleyball IQ helped the entire lineup contribute to the momentum swing.
Berea-Midpark carried that energy into the third set, continuing to apply pressure from the service line and attack decisively. The Titans took control with a 25-19 victory, moving ahead 2-1 in the match. Their balanced team performance remained the story, as defensive hustle created additional attacking opportunities and sustained rallies repeatedly ended in Berea-Midpark's favor.
The Titans closed with their strongest set score of the night, matching Midview's first-set total in a 25-18 victory. Rather than allowing the match to reach a fifth set, Berea-Midpark stayed aggressive and finished the comeback in four. The result reflected a complete team effort built on serving pressure, attacking confidence, determined defense and patience during extended exchanges.
It was a successful night throughout the program, as the junior varsity Titans also swept Midview 2-0 (26-24, 25-11). Berea-Midpark will look to carry that program-wide momentum into an away match against Avon at 6:30 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, Sep. 1, 2026.
