Berea-Midpark opened its season in emphatic fashion Monday, using a five-goal first half to pull away for a 7-0 home victory over Normandy in Berea. Arnold powered the attack with a hat trick as the Titans built an overwhelming halftime advantage and started the campaign with a 1-0-0 record.
The decisive stretch came before halftime, when Berea-Midpark combined sharp finishing with creative work across the attack to take a 5-0 lead. T. Watkins, Chrysanthus, Shiever and Cuiksa each scored, while Arnold accounted for three of the Titans’ seven goals. The balanced production gave Normandy multiple threats to track and allowed Berea-Midpark to consistently turn possession into scoring opportunities.
Shiever contributed in several ways, pairing a goal with two assists. Chrysanthus also scored and supplied an assist, while T. Watkins, Donegan helped create two goals. Those contributions reflected a connected team performance, with the Titans moving the ball effectively and sharing the work behind a memorable seven-goal opener.
Berea-Midpark added two more goals after halftime while preserving the shutout at the other end. The Titans denied Normandy a breakthrough for the full match, complementing their explosive attack with a complete defensive effort. Vazquez earned Woman of the Match recognition as Berea-Midpark closed out a confident opening victory.
The Titans will quickly turn their attention to an away match against Normandy at noon EDT Tuesday, Sept. 15. With seven goals, five first-half strikes and a clean sheet already secured, Berea-Midpark carries plenty of early momentum into the return meeting.
