BEREA, Ohio - Berea-Midpark delivered another confident all-around performance Thursday night, sweeping Midview 3-0 in a conference match at Berea-Midpark High School. The Titans captured the sets 25-19, 25-22 and 25-21, combining sustained service pressure with smart offense and determined floor defense.
The Titans established the early advantage with a six-point victory in the opening set. Midview’s strong defense extended rallies and challenged Berea-Midpark to remain patient, but the Titans consistently made intelligent attacking decisions. Their offensive awareness helped them find openings, manage difficult situations and finish enough points to take a 1-0 match lead.
The final two sets brought tighter margins and multiple lead changes. Berea-Midpark answered those swings with several all-out rallies, repeatedly refusing to let the ball hit the floor. That persistence was especially valuable against a Midview side that kept points alive and forced the Titans to earn the finish. Berea-Midpark stayed composed through the pressure, winning the second set 25-22 before closing the third 25-21.
Strong serving remained one of the Titans’ biggest weapons throughout the sweep. Multiple servers produced extended ace runs, allowing Berea-Midpark to build momentum and keep Midview from settling comfortably into its offense. Those runs, paired with the Titans’ sharp offensive IQ, helped the home team respond whenever the lead changed or a set tightened late.
The straight-set result reflected a complete team effort built on energy, discipline and a willingness to chase every ball. Berea-Midpark did not simply rely on one phase of the game. The Titans pressured from the service line, competed through long rallies and showed the finishing touch required to secure three competitive sets against a resilient conference opponent. The freshmen team also had a great defensive match to overcome Midview 2-0.
