Bishop Foley Catholic fought until the final snap Friday night, falling 15-14 to Shrine Catholic after the Knights gained a one-point advantage in overtime. With the teams tied 8-8 at the end of regulation, the Ventures scored six points in overtime before Shrine answered with seven to decide a closely contested game in Royal Oak.
Defense set the tone from the opening kickoff. Bishop Foley and Shrine battled through three scoreless quarters, with neither offense able to break through during the first 36 minutes. The Ventures stayed disciplined and continued competing as every stop became increasingly important in a game with little margin for error.
