Ventures Beat Lakers 45-12
Trenton Kanar powered Bishop Foley Catholic High School to a 45-12 football victory over Our Lady of the Lakes with four rushing touchdowns Friday, Oct. 9th, in Waterford Township. The game kicked off at 7 p.m. The Ventures produced touchdowns on the ground, through the air and on defense.
Trenton Kanar accounted for 24 points on touchdown runs alone, twice Our Lady of the Lakes’ final scoring total. Lukas Straske added another rushing touchdown, giving the Ventures five scores from their ground attack.
Connor Kokenos contributed a receiving touchdown to complement that rushing production. The catch gave the Ventures a sixth offensive touchdown and brought the points generated by their offensive touchdowns to 36. Three different players reached the end zone on offense, with Trenton Kanar leading that group and Lukas Straske and Connor Kokenos each adding a score.
The defense also delivered points rather than leaving all of the scoring to the offense. Jack Gjonaj intercepted a sweep toss and returned it for a touchdown, adding six points without an offensive possession. That pick-six gave Bishop Foley a fourth touchdown scorer and was the Ventures’ lone defensive touchdown in their seven-touchdown performance.
