Garrett Hathaway scored Bishop Foley Catholic’s lone goal in the second half, but Everest Collegiate’s two-goal opening half proved decisive in the Ventures’ 3-1 loss Thursday, Sept. 17, in Madison Heights. The Mountaineers added another goal after halftime to secure the victory in an energetic matchup played before a spirited crowd.
Everest established the early advantage with two goals in the first half. Bishop Foley continued to compete despite the deficit, working to slow the Mountaineers while searching for opportunities to break through. The Ventures entered halftime trailing 2-0 but remained determined to change the match after the break.
Hathaway delivered Bishop Foley’s biggest moment of the evening in the second half. Wearing No. 10, he found the net for the Ventures’ only goal and gave the home crowd a reason to celebrate. His finish highlighted a stronger attacking response from Bishop Foley and rewarded the team’s continued effort.
