Ventures Use Three-Goal First Half to Defeat Cardinals 4-1

Bishop Foley Catholic built a three-goal advantage in the first half and defeated the Cardinals 4-1 on Thursday, Sept. 3, at 32000 N Campbell Rd, Madison Heights, MI 48071. Max Ensley scored twice for the Ventures, helping the team improve to 4-1-1 with another productive performance in front of goal.
The decisive stretch came before halftime, when the Ventures scored all three of the opening half's goals. That early production gave Bishop Foley Catholic control of the match and provided a three-goal cushion entering the break. Max Ensley's two-goal performance accounted for half of the Ventures' scoring.
Bishop Foley Catholic added its fourth goal during the second half. The Cardinals also found the net once after halftime, but the teams' matching second-half goal totals left the Ventures with the same three-goal margin they had established during the opening half.
At the other end, Zachary Niphoratos held the Cardinals scoreless throughout the first half and conceded only once in the match. That defensive work complemented Bishop Foley Catholic's four-goal attack and kept the Ventures comfortably ahead after their strong opening 40 minutes.
