Barracudas Honor Stevie Grieshammer
The Blazing Barracudas Swim Club hosted the Stevie Grieshammer Memorial Meet on October 19th, 2025, held at the Busbey Natatorium at Cleveland State University. Stevie was a Mayfield High School Junior who passed away on February 28th, 2018. Stevie was a well-rounded teenager, a talented member of the swimming and diving team, and a gifted student with a 4.3 GPA, who was also a member of the National Honor Society and the Math Club. A portion of entry fees for the meet are donated annually to the SADS (Sudden Arrhythmia Death Syndromes) Foundation in Stevie's name. To date, Barracudas have donated $6,381 in honor of Stevie since 2022. This year, the team will donate $2,052 to help further his legacy. The team excelled in the Invitational, finishing first with a commanding score of 1,338 points, showcasing its strength in both male and female categories. Three swimmers posted Team Records at the meet including: -David Murnan, 11-12 50 Free, 24.89, and 100 Free, 54.87 -Brayden Chen, 13-14 100 Breast, 1:01.32 -Angelene Zheng, 8U 200 Free, 2:40.17 The Barracudas are now preparing to carry their momentum into the following challenge at the PEAQ Halloween Invitational set to take place in Pittsburgh beginning on October 24, 2025.
