Brush Boys Soccer Holds to Scoreless Tie in Home Opener Against Bedford

Jamar Ross | Brush High School | Aug 19, 2025

In their 2025 home opener, the Brush boys soccer team faced a challenging match against the Bedford Bearcats, finishing with a 0-0 draw. The first half saw both teams fighting hard to establish dominance, but neither side managed to break through the defensive lines. The stand-out moment came in the second half when Brush goalkeeper Ean Freeman made a crucial save. With just under 13 minutes remaining, Freeman executed a diving stop to his right, successfully blocking a penalty kick from Bedford's Levi Coleman, keeping the match even. As the game neared its conclusion, Brush had a golden opportunity to clinch a victory. Freshman Romiro Ferreira, in a dramatic moment late in the match, almost became the hero for Brush. His decisive shot, however, went just wide left, ultimately leaving both teams with a tie. Following this intense home opener, Brush (0-1-1) will next travel to Benedictine on Thursday.
