Brush Burns Bright at Green Twilight Relays

The Charles F. Brush boys and girls track and field teams delivered a strong night Friday at the Green High School Twilight Relays, piling up relay wins, podium finishes and personal records against a deep 13-team field at Green Memorial Stadium in Green.
Brush’s boys team set the tone with victories in three relays and a pair of major field-event wins. The Arcs’ 4x400 relay team of Marshon Jolly, Josiah Anthory, Chayce Brewer and Javion Sanderson took first in 3:27.47, holding off Boardman and Wadsworth. Brush also won the 4x110 shuttle hurdles relay in 1:00.25 behind Maurice Johnson, Brewer, Stephon Wright and Anthory, edging Boardman in another close finish. The throwers added another title in the 4x100 throwers relay, where Lawrence Moore, Ethan Enoch, Deshawn Wise and Jaxon Gregory finished first in 50.72.
The field events were another strength for the Arcs. Enoch turned in one of the meet’s top marks by winning the discus with a personal-best throw of 170 feet, 4 inches. Wise backed that effort with a fourth-place discus finish at 139-9, while Moore added a ninth-place mark of 133-6. Wise also reached the podium in shot put, taking third with a personal-best 47-6.75. Johnson added another first-place finish for Brush in the long jump, posting a personal-best leap of 22-8.25, and Marcus Burts scored as well with a ninth-place finish.
Brush also showed depth across the boys lineup beyond its event titles. The Arcs finished second in the sprint medley relay, fourth in the 4x200 relay and seventh in the 4x800 relay. Bryce Grant contributed a solid performance in the high jump as Brush continued to stack quality finishes throughout the meet.
On the girls side, the Lady Arcs continued their strong relay tradition with a first-place finish in the 4x110 shuttle hurdles relay. Michaela Bates, Aaliyah Efford, Kennedie Worsham and Destiny Johnson combined to win in 1:06.32, outlasting Medina Highland. Brush also took second in the 4x100 relay, as Milan Teague, Malia Harris, Brooklyn Cook and Paige Walker ran 50.90 to finish just behind Hoban.
The girls added three more third-place relay finishes, showing balance from sprints through distance. Hailey Flowers, Emmie Farren, Kasey Flowers and Makayla Roberson placed third in the 4x800 relay, while Walker, Worsham, Kasey Flowers and Hailey Flowers were third in the 4x400. Brush also finished third in the 4x200 relay. In the field events, Brielle Ray led the way with a runner-up finish in shot put at 37-8.5 and later placed sixth in discus at 108-10. Destiny Johnson added a second-place finish in the high jump at 4-10 as the Lady Arcs capped another productive meet heading deeper into the spring season.
