Panthers Fall 13-3 to Pine Crest in Resumed Matchup
The Coral Springs Charter Panthers struggled to capitalize in scoring territory Monday evening, going 1-for-4 in the red zone in a 13-3 loss to Pine Crest. The inability to finish drives proved decisive in a close, defensive battle that resumed after the matchup was suspended in August.
The Panthers showed promise early with a strong defensive stand that kept Pine Crest from immediately taking control. Coral Springs Charter continued to compete on that side of the ball, holding the visitors to 13 points and remaining within striking distance as the offense worked to generate scoring opportunities.
One of the Panthers’ biggest plays came on special teams. Facing fourth down, Dash Waterman converted a fake punt that extended the possession and moved Coral Springs Charter into threatening field position. The play gave the Panthers momentum, but the ensuing opportunity did not produce the touchdown they needed.
Coral Springs Charter reached the red zone four times but came away with only three points. Multiple mental mistakes also disrupted promising possessions and prevented the Panthers from turning a one-score contest into a different result. Pine Crest took advantage of the stalled drives and did enough offensively to protect its lead through the completion of the resumed game.
Despite the loss, the defensive performance and the execution of the fake punt provided areas for the Panthers to build on. Coral Springs Charter will return to action on the road against Forest Hill at 6:30 p.m. EDT Friday, Sept. 4, 2026.
