Robert Brucken | Drury | Apr 23, 2025

In a remarkable testament to skill and dedication, Molly Pemberton has been named Offensive Player of the Year for her exceptional performance with the Drury University Panthers' lacrosse team. Pemberton, who serves both as an attack player and the team captain, has notably never played lacrosse before joining the team and was initially a walk-on from the women's rugby team.

Molly Pemberton’s journey is a story of grit and unexpected success, starting her athletic career without prior experience in lacrosse. Her impressive stats include accumulating 54 career points, scoring 49 goals, assisting 16 times, and scooping 33 ground balls. Her role as the offensive leader not only involves scoring but also coordinating the plays and keeping her teammates focused and motivated during games.

Coach of the Drury University Panthers emphasized Pemberton's vital role, stating, "Molly is the backbone of our offense and helps to keep her team motivated." This accolade reflects her pivotal role in propelling the Panthers forward and setting a high standard for what dedication and leadership look like on and off the field.
