Drury University Panthers Face Defeat in CPWLL Championship Against University of Missouri Tigers

In a significant clash at the CPWLL Championship Game on April 12, 2025, the Drury University Panthers were overpowered by the University of Missouri Tigers with a final score of 19-6. The game, held at the University of Missouri, was played under a sunny afternoon sky, setting a perfect stage for what was an intense encounter. Despite the challenging match, the Panthers showcased commendable performances by their players. Kylie Farquhar led the scoring efforts for Drury with 4 goals, followed by Kaelyn Southall who contributed 2 goals. On the assist front, the Panthers saw contributions from Tylin Heathman, Khania Clark with one assist each, and Molly Pemberton, who facilitated two goals. Jaice Christensen was tasked with guarding the goal and recorded 9 saves from 28 shots on goal. The Panthers, now standing at a season record of 6-2-1, faced a tough opponent on the road but displayed great spirit and teamwork. Although the outcome was disappointing for Drury, the game's valuable lessons will undoubtedly fuel their preparations for future confrontations. The team remains optimistic about getting an at large vote to attend WCLA Nationals in Wichita, KS.
