Gahanna Lincoln Boys Bowling Caps Undefeated Regular Season With Record-Setting Win Over Lancaster

Gahanna Lincoln boys bowling closed its regular season in dominant fashion Friday, rolling past Lancaster 2,701-2,317 and completing an undefeated campaign while breaking a school record in the process at HP Lanes in Columbus.
The Lions not only secured a decisive team victory but also showcased remarkable depth, as all five varsity bowlers surpassed the 400 mark in their two-game series. Gahanna Lincoln’s second regular game proved to be the highlight of the night, as the team combined for 1,207 pins, setting a new school record and surpassing the previous mark established by this same group just a few weeks earlier.
Mitchell Genson led the way with a standout 529 series, following a 239 opener with a 290 in the record-setting team game. Kris Briscoe provided another major spark, posting a 492 series on games of 245 and 247 to help power the Lions’ surge. Will Gray added a steady 430 series (217, 213), while Caleb Petit contributed a 425 series (201, 224) and Kael Clous finished with a 414 series (181, 233), giving Gahanna Lincoln a complete lineup of high-impact performances.
The victory over Lancaster pushed the Lions to 11-0 overall, including a 5-0 finish in the OCC Ohio Division and a 10-0 mark in COHSBC Division A. Beyond dual matches, Gahanna Lincoln has either qualified for bracket play or claimed titles in every tournament entered this season, underscoring the team’s consistency and competitiveness heading into the postseason.
The success extended beyond the varsity lineup, as the Gahanna Lincoln JV boys also earned a convincing win over Lancaster, 2,075-1,376. The strong performance from both levels reinforced the depth of the program and added to the momentum as the Lions turn their attention to post season tournament play.
Friday’s match also carried added meaning as the final regular season appearance for seniors Kael Clous and Will Gray, as well as senior teammate Jon Walther. The seniors helped anchor a historic season that featured an unblemished record, multiple tournament breakthroughs and a new school standard in team scoring.
With the regular season complete and records already falling, Gahanna Lincoln now shifts focus to the postseason, where the Lions will look to extend their unbeaten run and build on a year in which they have met every challenge and elevated the program’s expectations.
