Gahanna Lincoln Girls Roll Past Lancaster Behind Several Strong Performances
The Gahanna Lincoln girls bowling team turned in its strongest performances of the season Friday night, defeating Lancaster 2,174-1,894 in a home match at HP Lanes in Columbus.
The Lions seized control early, jumping out to a commanding lead with a 923-742 advantage in the first game. They continued to apply pressure in game two, posting 902 to Lancaster’s 834 to widen the margin heading into Baker play. Gahanna then closed out the match with a two-game Baker total of 349, topping Lancaster’s 318 to secure the 280-pin victory.
Senior Lacey Holden paced the Lions with a season-high 481 series, highlighted by a standout 267 game that set the tone for the match. Her performance anchored Gahanna Lincoln’s strong individual games and helped build a cushion that Lancaster could not overcome. Holden’s consistency throughout both regulation games provided stability at the top of the lineup.
Freshman Kennedy Carruthers delivered a breakout effort, rolling a career-high 224 game on the way to a season-best 389 series. Her performance added critical depth behind Holden and showcased the emerging talent in the Lions’ lineup. Jessica Goldman contributed a steady 353 series, giving Gahanna Lincoln another reliable score as the team stacked quality games across the board.
Gahanna Lincoln also won the JV match 1752-864. Senior Kadince Grigsby recorded a personal-best 234 game as part of a 380 series, leading the JV effort. Pyrrha Grigsby added a 323 series that included a solid 178 game, underscoring the program’s depth and the development of younger athletes.
The Lions capitalized on high individual games and balanced scoring to have a total team performance. With multiple season- and career-high performances, the result marked a strong step forward for Gahanna Lincoln as the team continues its push towards the postseason.
