Gahanna Lincoln High School Lions Secure Victory in Season Opener Against Lakota East
The Gahanna Lincoln High School Lions Girl’s Basketball team opened their season with a strong showing at the Queen City Tip Off, held at Sycamore High School on November 22, 2025. The Lions matched up against the Lakota East Thunderhawks in a tightly contested first half, heading into the locker room with a narrow 26–25 lead. Haedyn Hull delivered a standout performance, scoring 15 points and knocking down an impressive 5-of-8 from beyond the arc. Sarai Hopson filled the stat sheet with 11 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists, and 6 steals, earning Queen City MVP honors. Kacie Washington and Wynter Ransom added 11 and 10 points, respectively, providing consistent offensive support. Kaylee Jackson contributed 5 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals, while Mackenzie Baines added 4 points, 3 assists, and 2 rebounds. The Lions pulled away in the second half, securing a 56–44 victory over the Thunderhawks and starting the season with a 1–0 record. Gahanna Lincoln will look to build on this momentum as they return home to host Whitehall on November 26, 2025, in what promises to be another exciting matchup.
