Unity Seats Brings Sheriff and Neighbors Together for Central vs. East Longmeadow Football
Hampden County Sheriff's Office | Hampden County Sheriff's Office | Oct 14, 2026
Central faces East Longmeadow in football Thursday, Oct. 15, at 6 p.m. at Springfield Central School, where US United Unity Seats will bring law enforcement and community members together.
Hampden County Sheriff Nick Cocchi
"Our kids deserve to feel safe when they go to school, attend a basketball game or cheer on their friends under the Friday night lights. We've seen too many tragedies in our own backyard, and we need to remember that building safer, stronger communities starts with how we treat one another. Unity doesn't start in Washington. It starts right here, in our neighborhoods, our schools and our communities."
- Hampden County Sheriff Nick Cocchi will join community members at the game.
- Unity Seats purchases tickets and brings law enforcement leaders and community members together to share the game as neighbors.
- The gathering continues the commemoration of the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, emphasizing shared responsibility for neighbors.
- Sitting and cheering together will create time for respectful conversation, with the hope that people arriving as strangers leave as friends.
- The Sheriff's Office initiative centers unity in neighborhoods and schools, asking participants to set negativity aside and help build safer, stronger communities.
- The game venue is at 1840 Roosevelt Ave. in Springfield, Massachusetts.
