Raiders Look to Senior Versatility and Improved Defense for 2026-27
Laurens District High School enters the 2026-27 varsity boys basketball season with a versatile senior class and clear goals: strengthen its team defense and advance beyond the first round of the playoffs. The Raiders finished 18-9 last season under 5th year head coach Armond Flood.
Senior Quinton Watts brings an all-around game and the ability to contribute across the floor. Senior Zakarion Simpson adds athleticism and a strong presence in the paint, while senior RJ Brewster Snow’s inside-out game complements Simpson's interior strengths and Watts' versatility.
As Flood prepares the team for its early-season schedule, the Raiders will focus on building a cohesive defense and making the most of their seniors’ varied skill sets in pursuit of a deeper playoff run.
Laurens is scheduled to face Eastside at home for a scrimmage on Monday, Nov. 16, at 6 p.m. The Raiders will host a "Meet the Raiders" event on November 13th before a scrimmage with Christ Church. Preseason games at the Impact Sports Invitational are set for Nov. 23-25, providing an early look at the Raiders across a multiday event against strong competition.
The December schedule includes trips to Hillcrest on Dec. 1 and Clinton on Dec. 4 before a home matchup against the Clinton Red Devils on Dec. 11. Laurens follows with a home game against Mauldin on Dec. 15.
