MOBILE, Ala. - The Louisiana Christian University men's soccer team held the Mobile Rams scoreless through the opening half, but a rapid second-half scoring run sent the Wildcats to a 7-1 loss Thursday at The Jungle.

Louisiana Christian (0-2) created early chances and stayed organized defensively throughout the first 45 minutes. Nico Neira put a shot on goal just 51 seconds into the match, forcing a save, and Aran Hernández Vivar tested the Mobile goalkeeper again in the 15th minute. At the other end, Ricardo Gross made two first-half saves to preserve the scoreless tie at halftime.

Mobile (1-1) turned up the pressure after the break. The Rams scored twice just moments after the second half kickoff and added three more before the first 15 minutes of the second half had expired.

Juan Sierra got LCU's lone goal in the 63rd minute, and first goal of the season, cutting the deficit to 5-1. Sierra finished with two shots while playing all 90 minutes. Ezra Williams and Juan Tavera also registered attempts as the Wildcats continued pushing forward.

Mobile added late goals in the 83rd and 89th minutes. The Rams finished with a 22-6 advantage in shots, a 15-3 edge in shots on goal and a 7-2 margin in corner kicks. Louisiana Christian’s goalkeepers combined for eight saves, with Gross (0-2) stopping five shots during the first hour of play. Tyson Cole made three saves over the match's final half-hour.

The Wildcats remain in Mobile where they'll take on (RV) Faulkner on Saturday. Kickoff of Saturday's match against the (RV) Eagles (2-0) is set for 5 p.m. at The Jungle.
