Medina sweeps Strongsville 3-0 behind Singer's 19 kills and 8 aces

Medina Boys Volleyball opened strong and never let up Tuesday night, sweeping Strongsville 3-0 in a home match at Medina. The Battling Bees won by set scores of 25-11, 25-18, 25-13, controlling the match from the service line and at the net.

The Bees set the tone in the opening set, pulling away early on the way to a 25-11 win. Medina carried that momentum into the second set, where Strongsville found a little more rhythm but could not close the gap as the Bees finished off a 25-18 decision. Medina then closed the match emphatically in the third set, using another decisive run to seal the 25-13 victory and complete the sweep.

Oliver Singer, a senior, led Medina's attack with 19 kills and added eight aces in a dominant all-around performance. Singer's production helped fuel several of the Bees' key rallies and gave Medina a reliable point source throughout all three sets. Sophomore Ashton Knowles added seven kills, giving the team another steady option in the offense as Medina kept pressure on Strongsville from start to finish.

Junior setter Brayden Howells directed the offense with 30 assists and contributed four aces, helping Medina stay in system and turn strong passing into points. Junior Trent Balicki paced the back row with 17 digs and also served six aces, a combination that underscored how effective the Bees were both defensively and from behind the end line. Medina's serve pressure repeatedly forced Strongsville out of rhythm, and the Bees converted those chances into points during several extended rallies.
