Nordonia High Girls Varsity Golf Secures Convincing Win Over Stow-Munroe Falls
In an impressive display of skill and teamwork, the Nordonia High School Girls Varsity Golf team secured a convincing victory against Stow-Munroe Falls High School Bulldogs yesterday at Fox Den Golf Course. The match took place on a hot and humid day, adding an extra layer of challenge to the competition. The Knights posted a stellar score of 155, comfortably ahead of the Bulldogs' 171, showcasing the depth of Nordonia's talent. Senior Julia Gulla led the Knights with an outstanding performance, scoring a 2 under par 33, which tied the school record for a 9 hole match. Alongside Gulla, notable scores came from Natalie Barnes with a 39, Polly Loney at 40, and Maddie Eisner who carded a 43. Carley Sutton and Kayla Joo both rounded out the team score with convincing efforts, each recording a 45. Coach Harris expressed great satisfaction with the team's overall performance and cited the team's consistent improvement throughout the season so far. With the win the team improved their dual match record to 2-0 on the year. The Knights are gearing up for their next challenge which will be another dual match this time against Mentor. The event is scheduled to take place on September 3, 2024, at Blackbrook Golf Course. The team looks to maintain their winning momentum as they advance through the regular season.
