Nordonia High School Knights Dominate Bedford in Season Opener

Nordonia High School's varsity football team kicked off their 2024 season with a commanding victory over Bedford High School's Bearcats on Friday, August 23. The game, held at Bedford Bearcat Stadium, ended with a decisive 41-6 score in favor of the Knights.

The first half was relatively close with Nordonia leading 13-6, but the Knights' performance surged in the second half. Ben Chesser was a standout player, rushing for three touchdowns, while Liam Kountz added another on the ground, and Sam Collins caught one in the end zone. The Knights took full control in the second half, pushing the lead with four touchdowns.

Special teams also played a crucial role in the victory. Riley Edgehouse contributed significantly by successfully kicking two field goals and adding five extra points. "Coach Fox congratulated the Knights on a well earned team victory," highlighting the team's collective effort and execution.

Looking forward, the Knights are scheduled to face the Berea-Midpark Titans on Thursday, August 30, at Baldwin Wallace University George Finnie Stadium. With a current record of 1-0, Nordonia is off to a promising start this season. As they prepare for their next encounter, the Knights aim to maintain their winning momentum and continue their robust performance.
