Nordonia High School Knights Football Achieves Victory in Week 2 Against Akron East

The Nordonia Knights took the field at Boliantz Stadium on a clear Friday night, facing off against the Akron East Dragons in their Week 2 varsity football encounter on August 29, 2025. The game concluded with a significant victory for the Knights, securing a 39-7 win over the Dragons. Nordonia demonstrated a commanding performance from the start, rapidly advancing to a 29-0 lead by the end of the first period. The Knights' offense was in fine form, with quarterback Steve Fakult contributing prominently by running for one touchdown and throwing for two more. His targets included Grant Kaminski, who made a 29-yard touchdown reception, and Dominick Jackson, who completed a dynamic 71-yard touchdown catch and run. Additionally, Kaminski scored another TD by recovering an errant punt snap in the endzone. On special teams, kicker Riley Edgehouse successfully converted all three of his extra point attempts and added a 44-yard field goal to the tally. At halftime, Nordonia had already established a commanding 32-0 lead over Akron East, which set the tone for the remainder of the game. Although Akron East managed to score a touchdown in the final minutes of the second half, it was not enough to challenge Nordonia's dominating defensive performance. The game marked a milestone for Nordonia's head coach, Jeff Fox, as he celebrated his 100th career victory, all achieved at Nordonia High School. His strategic acumen has been a pivotal element of the team's success over the years. Looking ahead, the Knights travel to Mayfield on Friday, September 5, 2025 to take on the Wildcats at 7:00 PM. With a current record of 2-0, Nordonia is positioned strongly as they progress through the season, aiming to build on their winning momentum.
