Nordonia Knights Secure Victory in League Opener Against Solon Comets
In a thrilling display of resilience and skill, the Nordonia Knights kicked off their Suburban League season with a narrow 1-0 win over Solon High School at Boliantz Stadium on August 28, 2024. Under a hot and humid weather backdrop, the Knights and Comets were locked in a goalless tie at halftime, setting the stage for a dramatic second half. Nordonia’s breakthrough came from Addison Francis, who netted the decisive goal on a beautifully executed free kick by Alaina Johnson. This standout moment marked Francis as the hero of the day, delivering a well-earned victory for the Knights. The effort was complemented by an outstanding performance from goalkeeper Summer Satterfield, who made 14 crucial saves, several in key moments toward the game's close, securing a shutout victory for Nordonia.
