Regina High School’s Saddlelites used a dominant two-way performance from Emersen Holder and a smothering team defense to roll past Everest Collegiate, 66-29, in a home victory Tuesday night in Warren.

Holder powered the Saddlelites’ offense with a game-high 34 points, while also filling the box score with 10 rebounds, seven assists and four steals. Her scoring outburst helped Regina build separation early, and her playmaking kept the offense balanced as the lead grew into double digits and never seriously came under threat.

Regina seized control with sustained scoring runs keyed by defensive pressure. The Saddlelites forced turnovers and limited Everest Collegiate’s clean looks, turning stops into transition opportunities. Everest was held to just 29 points, struggling to find rhythm against Regina’s pressure on the perimeter and help-side rotations in the paint.

While Holder led the way, the Saddlelites’ had a full team effort across the floor. Sami Thomas finished with nine points, four rebounds, four assists and four steals, giving Regina another steady ballhandler and on-ball defender. Jailyn Houth added nine points, six rebounds and five assists, helping keep the offense moving with extra passes and strong work on the glass.

Inside, Regina controlled the boards and the paint. Caroline Torey dominated the glass with 13 rebounds, repeatedly ending Everest possessions after a single shot and creating second-chance opportunities on the offensive end. Morgan Thimm anchored the interior defense with six blocks, deterring drives and forcing Everest to settle for contested jumpers.

With the win, the Saddlelites showcased a balanced formula built on star power, rebounding and defensive intensity. Holder’s all-around performance set the tone, but the depth of contributions across the lineup underscored Regina’s potential as the season progresses and the schedule stiffens.

Next up: Saddlelites are back at home on Friday, December 12th. JVB plays Warren Woods Tower at 4:00, with JVA and Varsity playing Ann Arbor Pioneer at 5:30/7:00.
