Seaside Seeks Fourth Win in Rematch With Tillamook / Neah-Kah-Nie

Jazmin Peon Gomez | Seaside High School | Oct 19, 2026

Seaside High School (3-8) will pursue its fourth victory of the season when it visits Tillamook / Neah-Kah-Nie (4-6-1) for a Class 4A girls soccer league match Tuesday, Oct. 20, at 7 p.m. The Seagulls lost the first meeting 1-0 at home Sept. 29.

The rematch gives Seaside a chance to end a six-game losing streak in which it has not scored. The Seagulls most recently fell 4-0 to Scappoose on Oct. 15, and their last victory came Sept. 17 in a 2-1 result against St. Helens. Finding a way to turn attacking opportunities into goals will be central against an opponent that held them scoreless in September.

Forward Maggie Mulder is a player to watch for Seaside, looking to capitalize on scoring chances. Regular starter Sucely Alonzo brings the ability to win the ball from opponents. Those ball recoveries could help the Seagulls move from defense into attack, while Mulder's work up front will be important as Seaside tries to break its scoring drought.

The Cheesemakers are seeking their fifth win and also enter on a losing streak. They have dropped four consecutive matches since beating Seaside, falling to Astoria, Scappoose and Valley Catholic before a 4-1 loss at Banks on Oct. 15. Their home-field advantage adds another challenge for the visiting Seagulls.

Seaside is ranked No. 29 in the Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA) rankings, while the Cheesemakers are No. 20. The Cheesemakers' results also include a 0-0 tie against No. 24 Newport. With just one goal separating the teams in their first meeting, Seaside's ability to regain possession and make its chances count will be key tactical storylines in the rematch.
