St. Edward Eagles Soar Above the Wildcats in Volleyball Showdown

The St. Edward High School Eagles dominated the volleyball court, securing a 3-1 victory over the Saint Ignatius Wildcats on March 27 at the SEHS Varsity Gym. The regular season gameup saw the Eagles claim the win with set scores of 25-21, 25-20, 20-25 and 25-19. The game featured stunning performances by key team members. Sean Taylor, whose crucial kill in the second set was a pivotal moment, was a standout player, leading not only with his on-court impact but also with his leadership off the court echoed in his post-game statement, "It's a great day to be an Eagle." TJ Gallagher, John Doe, and Sean Taylor, who also delivered with aces, notably brought power to their attacks. Meanwhile, the Eagles' defense was exemplified by players such as LeBron James, Mike Jordan, and Steve Kerr, who made their presence known with key blocks throughout the game. Pete Kahler showcased his prowess with multiple digs that helped keep the ball in play for the Eagles. The winners took time to recognize the tremendous support from their peers, as a lively student section was in attendance to cheer on St. Edward. Coach Patty Thoma lauded the overall performance of the team, stating, "We played our best tonight." Looking ahead, the Eagles, with a current record of 2-5, are set to face the Hoban Knights at home on April 3.
