St. Edward High School Eagles Excel at JV Wrestling Tournament

The St. Edward High School Eagles showcased their talent and determination at the Austintown Fitch JV Wrestling Tournament, held on December 22, 2025. Competing in a challenging field, the Eagles scored a commendable 142 points, securing a fourth-place finish out of 17 teams. The event was highlighted by outstanding individual performances from many Eagles wrestlers. Phoenix Russo and Luca Palacios both clinched first place in the 106 lb and 126 lb weight classes, respectively. Each demonstrated skill and resilience, earning top honors in their divisions. Additionally, Chase Luther and Marco DellaMea claimed second place at 126 lbs and 165 lbs. Their performances, along with David Pulice, who also finished second at 190 lbs, contributed significantly to the team's overall score. Further notable results came from Joe Ieropoli who took third place at 150 lbs, and Logan Orloff, Khalil Anderson, Andrew Makovich, and Ozzie Anyangwe, each securing fourth place in their respective weight classes. These placements illustrate the talent and depth on the Eagles' roster. The Eagles' continuous improvements and aggressive competition style were evident throughout the tournament. They were praised for their excellent conditioning and first-class representation of St. Edward High School. As the season has progressed, they are clearly building momentum, which will be pivotal for their success in upcoming events. Looking ahead, the Eagles are set to compete next at the Keystone Pycraft Pool Tournament on January 3, 2026. This upcoming event will provide another opportunity for the young wrestlers to demonstrate their skills and further develop their competitive edge.
