LAKELAND, Fla. - All Saints' placed five runners among the first 11 finishers and scored 27 points to win the high school girls 5K team title at the 2026 Sunshine State Athletic Association Cross Country State Championship on Saturday, Sept. 19, at Holloway Park.
Charlotte Roy set the pace for All Saints' by winning the individual championship in 19 minutes, 22.1 seconds. Naeha Akella of St. Stephens Episcopal finished second in 19:43.6, and Sofia Boussouf led Classical Academy (Sarasota) with a third-place time of 20:30.6. Kylie Cook gave All Saints' a second runner in the top four, crossing in 20:41.3.
The deciding stretch in the team race came as the rest of the All Saints' scoring group reached the finish. Julia Marra Andrade placed eighth overall in 22:29.5, just ahead of teammate Savannah Simonds, who was ninth in 22:29.8. Lindsey Cook completed the championship score by finishing 11th in 22:55.3. After runners from teams without complete scoring lineups were removed from the team calculation, the five All Saints' finishes counted for 1, 4, 6, 7 and 9 points.
St. Stephens Episcopal finished second with 56 points behind two top-six overall performances. Akella earned two team points with her runner-up finish, while Sophia Hobson placed sixth overall in 21:25.1. Lily Buser finished 14th in 23:17.6, Genevieve Hoard was 20th in 24:10.8 and Julia Buser placed 25th in 25:31.4 to complete the runner-up score.
Calvary Christian (PtStL) took third with 93 points. Addison Clark led the team in 13th overall at 23:10.5, followed by Kazdyn Brown in 16th and Mya Drawdy in 17th. Classical Academy (Sarasota) finished fourth with 115 points, powered by Boussouf's third-place run, and Legacy High School rounded out the top five with 130. Joi Medley led Legacy by placing 10th in 22:38.7.
Canterbury (SP) placed sixth with 161 points, Merritt Island Christian was seventh with 165, First Academy (Leesburg) took eighth with 179 and Independence Classical finished ninth with 225. Geneva Classical Academy did not record a team score with four finishers, but Ella Feder placed fifth in 21:20.3 and Sophie Yates followed in seventh at 22:16.2, adding two more top-10 performances to the championship field.
