Indian Rocks Christian Sweeps Final for Third Straight State Championship
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Indian Rocks Christian won its third consecutive State volleyball championship Saturday, October 3, defeating Southwest Florida Christian School in three sets in the State Championship Bracket final at the Sunshine State Athletics volleyball championships in Winter Haven.
The 3-0 victory completed a championship run that included a three-set semifinal win for Indian Rocks. Southwest Florida Christian reached the final with a semifinal victory of its own, but Indian Rocks took all three sets in the title match to retain the championship. The final paired two teams that had advanced through the semifinal round with sweeps.
Indian Rocks defeated Legacy Charter in three sets to secure its place in the championship match. That result gave Indian Rocks a chance to extend its title streak, and it followed with another straight-set victory in the final. Across those two matches, Indian Rocks won six sets without dropping one.
In the other semifinal, Southwest Florida Christian defeated Delphi Academy in three sets. The semifinal round established the championship matchup, with Legacy Charter and Delphi Academy falling one match short of the final.
Southwest Florida Christian finished as the runner-up in the State Championship Bracket. For Indian Rocks, the final added another title to an uninterrupted run of three straight State championships.
