Chong and Rosales Combine for Shutout as Taft Draws Cerritos

TAFT, Calif. - Taft College and Cerritos College finished in a 0-0 draw Tuesday, Sept. 15, after the Cougars held their opponent without a shot over 90 minutes. Neither side produced the decisive goal, and the final whistle confirmed a combined shutout for Taft goalkeepers Aslan Chong and Noah Rosales.
Chong started in goal and kept the match scoreless through the opening 45 minutes. With the Cougars and Cerritos still level at halftime, Rosales took over for the second half and completed the shutout. Neither goalkeeper was required to make a save, and each was credited with 45 scoreless minutes.
The official box score reflected a match with few attacking opportunities. Taft and Cerritos each finished without a shot, shot on goal, corner kick or offside. With no shots recorded, the match also ended without a goal or assist for either team.
Taft received three yellow cards, while Cerritos was shown one. Neither team received a red card, allowing both sides to finish the match at full strength. The Cougars’ clean sheet was secured when Rosales completed the final 45 minutes without conceding.
Taft will return home to face Los Angeles City on Friday, Sept. 18, 2026, at 4 p.m. The Cougars will carry their shutout performance into the quick turnaround as they resume their schedule three days after the scoreless draw.
