Cougars Volleyball Hit .494 in Three-Set Sweep of Allan Hancock

TAFT, Calif. - Taft College swept Allan Hancock College 3-0 at home, winning 25-11, 25-12 and 25-10 behind an efficient attack and a balanced defensive effort. The Cougars totaled 41 kills with only three attack errors, finishing with a .494 hitting percentage to control the match from the opening set.
Taft established its attack early with 15 kills and a .438 hitting percentage in the first set. That production helped the Cougars create separation on the way to a 25-11 victory. They remained steady in the second set, recording 14 kills and hitting .400 in a 25-12 win that gave them a commanding two-set lead.
The Cougars delivered their most efficient set in the third. Taft put down 12 kills, committed only one attack error and hit .524 while closing the sweep with a 25-10 victory. The Cougars also pressured Allan Hancock from the service line throughout the match, finishing with eight aces.
Jazzahlei Satele led the offense with 14 kills on 19 attacks and did not commit an error, producing a .737 hitting percentage. Satele also had two aces and eight digs for a team-high 16 points. Shylah Pulu-Havi Valdez added eight kills without an error on 12 attempts, hit .667 and helped control the net with three solo blocks and one block assist.
Vienna Perier contributed across the rotation with 12 assists, seven digs, four kills, two aces and two total blocks. Railye-Marie Makainai-Kon led Taft with 13 assists, while Jadalynn Satele collected six kills and eight digs. Ku'uleimokihana Manaois finished with five kills, two solo blocks and an ace, and Teihanni Tafisi supplied two aces and five digs. Havi Valdez added four kills, two digs and a block assist.
Taft finished with 31 digs and eight total blocks, giving the Cougars production in each phase of the match. The Cougars next travel to face Cuesta College on Friday, Sept. 11, 2026, at 5 p.m.
