Taft College returned from spring break and was paced by Brady Shipley’s 76 at Ridge Creek Golf Course in Dinuba during an event hosted by Reedley College.

Shipley turned in the Cougars’ low round of the day and set the tone for Taft’s top group in its first action after the break. Freshman Nathaniel Estrada followed with an 87, while sophomores Kasen Clark and Ryker Scherer each carded 88s to round out the team’s leading scores.

The round was played in clear conditions, with temperatures climbing into the upper 80s. Taft competed at Ridge Creek after time away from competition, and Shipley’s 76 stood out as the sharpest individual performance for the Cougars. With no hole-by-hole scoring available, the low rounds from Shipley, Estrada, Clark and Scherer provided the clearest picture of Taft’s day in Dinuba.

Estrada, a freshman, delivered the Cougars’ second-best score at 87, while Clark and Scherer matched one another at 88. That gave Taft a compact scoring group behind Shipley and offered a solid foundation as the team resumed its spring schedule.

The event marked another early-April test for the Cougars away from home, this time against a Reedley-hosted field. Taft’s focus now shifts to its next outing, scheduled for Monday, April 13, at Buena Vista Golf Course, where the Cougars will be back on their home course looking to build off Shipley’s strong round and the steady supporting scores behind him.
