Taft College Baseball Team Steps Up at September 11 Prayer Breakfast

The Taft College Baseball Team and Coaching Staff demonstrated their commitment to service and remembrance by attending the September 11, 2026 Prayer Breakfast sponsored by the Taft Chamber of Commerce. Beginning at 8 a.m., the Cougars joined the community in honoring first responders and remembering the sacrifices made by so many on one of the most tragic days in our country’s history.

Participation in the prayer breakfast is an annual tradition for the baseball program. By continuing to attend each year, the players and coaches show that being part of Taft College athletics extends beyond competition. Their presence reflects respect for those who serve, appreciation for the local community and a willingness to stand alongside neighbors during an important moment of reflection.

The team’s contribution continued after the breakfast concluded. Players and coaches helped facilitate the event by cleaning up, providing practical support that helped bring the gathering to a smooth close. Their work may have taken place away from the baseball field, but it displayed many of the same qualities the program values, including teamwork, responsibility and following through until the job is finished.

Taft College proudly recognizes the Baseball Team and Coaching Staff for representing the Cougars with care and purpose. Their service strengthened the connection between the college and the wider Taft community while honoring first responders and the enduring significance of September 11.
