Taft College fell 3-0 to Allan Hancock College on Friday at Santa Maria after Isabella Cavalli scored the decisive opening goal in the 22nd minute. Isabella Cavalli converted an assist from Natalya Ando-Pineda at 22:16, giving Allan Hancock a 1-0 advantage that held through halftime.
Goalkeeper Liliana Lopez helped the Cougars withstand the early pressure, making the first of seven saves at 17:18 to keep the match scoreless. Taft responded to the opening goal with its two shots of the match, and both were on target. Sophea Reyes and Belicia Ramirez each recorded a shot on goal, with Larissa Lorencz making saves at 26:44 and 43:47.
Allan Hancock extended the lead shortly after halftime. Cara Mia Shalhoob scored at 53:11 off an assist from Sarah Long, making it 2-0. Taft continued working defensively against an attack that finished with 23 shots, including 10 on goal, and earned seven corner kicks.
Liliana Lopez played all 90 minutes and produced four saves in the second half. Three came during a concentrated stretch from 83:03 to 83:59, preventing Allan Hancock from adding to its lead during the sequence. Samantha Quintero completed the scoring at 84:44 with an assist from Stephanie Garcia. Allan Hancock recorded two saves to secure the shutout.
The Cougars will return home to face San Joaquin Delta on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. PDT.
