Garrison Burns Earns Top-Five Finish in Trojans’ MOCAL Opener

PATASKALA, Ohio - Garrison Burns placed among the top five individuals as the Tree of Life Christian School boys varsity golf team opened its season Thursday, July 30, in MOCAL Tournament No. 1. Six schools competed in the league event, the first of three MOCAL tournaments scheduled for the season.
The Trojans entered three golfers, one short of the four required to register a team score. As a result, Tree of Life did not appear in the team standings. The format still allowed each Trojan to compete individually against golfers from the other five participating schools.
Garrison Burns, a junior transfer in his first season at Tree of Life, led the Trojans with a top-five finish. His placement provided the team’s leading individual result in its first league competition of the season. Miles George and Isaac Padgett also competed for the Trojans.
The opening tournament gave Tree of Life’s three golfers their first chance to compete in the MOCAL series. Although the Trojans could not post a combined score, the event established an individual result for Garrison Burns and provided the team with tournament experience before the remaining league dates.
Tree of Life will return to MOCAL competition Thursday, Aug. 13, at Raccoon Valley Golf Course. That tournament will be the second of the league’s three scheduled events this season, with the Trojans seeking to build on Garrison Burns’s top-five opening finish and register a team score if four golfers are available.
