COLUMBUS, Ohio - Tree of Life Christian School battled through two tightly contested sets before delivering a commanding finish Thursday night, sweeping Madison Christian 25-23, 26-24, 25-9. The Trojans showed poise when the first two sets reached their decisive points, then turned consistency and service pressure into a runaway third set.
Madison Christian challenged Tree of Life throughout the opening set, but the Trojans stayed composed and secured the final points for a 25-23 victory. The second set brought even more pressure. With neither side able to create much separation, Tree of Life fought through the low moments and closed out the extended set 26-24 to take a 2-0 match lead. Those back-to-back finishes reflected the grit that has become a strength for the team.
The Trojans carried that momentum into the third set and took firm control. Their serving, defense and attacking worked together during the most decisive stretch of the match, limiting Madison Christian to nine points. Tree of Life completed the sweep with a 25-9 victory, turning a night that began with two battles into a confident closing performance.
Allie Coleman led the attack with 13 kills, while Libby Homkes added 10 kills and provided steady serve receive with a 2.47 pass rating. Megan Donnally directed the offense with 28 assists, helping the Trojans maintain balance and put their hitters in productive positions. At the net, Klark Wilkinson recorded five blocks to strengthen Tree of Life's defensive presence.
Emily Thorne anchored the back row with 17 digs and also contributed to an effective opening service rotation. Donnally delivered 22 serves, while Abby Sanders and Thorne each had 13. As Tree of Life's first three servers, the trio helped the Trojans control the match from the service line and build the rhythm that powered the decisive third set.
The sweep rewarded a complete team effort, from the attackers finishing points to the setters, blockers, defenders and servers creating those opportunities. After answering Madison Christian's strongest pushes in the first two sets, Tree of Life closed the evening with its most consistent volleyball and an emphatic 16-point win in the finale.
