SUNBURY, Ohio - Genoa Christian posted a team score of 187 to win Friday’s MOCAL tri-match, while Tree of Life Christian finished second with a 210 and earned a 19-stroke victory over Delaware Christian. Delaware Christian recorded a 229 in the three-team varsity competition.

Brooks Norman of Genoa Christian and Hunter Costello of Delaware Christian shared the low individual round, each shooting a 43. Their matching scores led the field and gave both schools a strong performance at the top of their respective lineups.

Tree of Life’s 210 was approximately one stroke better than its team average for the season. The Trojans reached that mark despite competing without their No. 1 golfer, maintaining enough consistency across the lineup to secure second place and finish comfortably ahead of Delaware Christian.

Walker Strouse provided an important contribution in his first match of the year. Strouse turned in a score that helped Tree of Life complete its team total and claim the head-to-head victory over Delaware Christian. His return added depth to a Trojans lineup that was already missing its top player.

Genoa Christian’s 187 gave it a 23-stroke advantage over Tree of Life in the final standings. Although the Trojans could not match the winning total, their below-average team score and Strouse’s successful return marked encouraging developments as they continued through the MOCAL schedule.

TOL moved to 2-3 in MOCAL dual/tri matches for the season (not including the MOCAL tournament) with 2 matches remaining against Shekinah and Granville Christian on 9/21. Sectional Tournament is on Tuesday, September 22nd at Darby Creek.
