Trojans Battle Through Defensive Test in Straight-Set Loss to Northside Christian

The Tree of Life Christian School Trojans fell 3-0 to Northside Christian on Friday evening, dropping the sets 25-19, 25-17 and 25-16. Northside’s strong defense made attacking space difficult to find, but the Trojans responded to a slow start with improved serve receive, determined digging and a productive presence at the net.
Tree of Life stayed within reach during the opening set despite struggling early in serve receive. As the Trojans settled into the match, they kept more balls alive and worked to create better attacking opportunities. Northside continued to cover the court effectively, however, and closed out the first set 25-19.
The Trojans’ front-row defense provided an encouraging foundation throughout the match. Allie Coleman recorded nine blocks, while Klark Wilkinson added six, repeatedly making it difficult for Northside’s hitters to produce clean swings. Their work at the net gave Tree of Life chances to extend points and transition into its offense.
Northside maintained its defensive pressure in the second set and earned a 25-17 victory. Tree of Life continued searching for openings against a disciplined back row, with Klark Wilkinson leading the Trojans in aces and posting a team-best for the night .250 hitting percentage. Her serving and efficient attacking gave the team positive moments against a challenging opponent.
Tree of Life continued competing through the final set, showing progress in serve receive and finishing the night with stronger defensive play. Megan Donnally led the team with 20 digs, helping the Trojans stay active in rallies and preventing Northside from scoring easily. Northside completed the sweep with a 25-16 win, but the Trojans’ late defensive effort offered a clear building block moving forward.
The Trojans will face Shekinah Christian School on the road, Monday, Aug. 24, 2026. Tree of Life will look to carry forward its net defense, back-row effort and improved serve receive in the next matchup.
