Trojans Bounce Back to Beat Westland After Tri-Match Opener

Tree of Life Christian School bounced back in a big way Saturday, closing its tri-match with a 25-14, 25-18 victory over Westland after falling to host Hilliard Davidson 25-18, 25-15 in the opener. The split gave the Trojans a strong finish to a busy day of varsity volleyball in Hilliard.

The Trojans stayed competitive against Hilliard Davidson behind solid serve receive and consistent pressure from the service line. Tree of Life scored 18 points in the opening set before the host team secured the 25-18 result. Hilliard Davidson then completed the two-set victory by taking the second set 25-15.

Tree of Life responded with purpose against Westland. The Trojans controlled the first set for a 25-14 win, then maintained their composure to finish the match with a 25-18 second-set victory. Their steady passing helped the offense stay organized, while strong serving continued to put Westland under pressure.

Several Trojans made notable contributions across the tri-match. Libby Homkes powered the attack with 11 kills, while Abby Sanders added nine kills and delivered five aces. Allegra Santamaria recorded three aces, giving Tree of Life another effective option at the service line.

Megan Donnally directed the offense with 24 assists, connecting the Trojans’ serve receive to their productive attack. Those contributions helped Tree of Life stay steady through both matches and turn the lessons of the opener into a decisive two-set victory over Westland.
