Trojans celebrate conference honors at GCVC Championship event

Tree of Life Christian School’s boys volleyball program had plenty to celebrate Monday night at the GCVC Championship event in Grove City, as the Trojans were recognized for a standout season with a long list of all-conference honors.

Before the championship matches began, conference awards were handed out, and Tree of Life was well represented. Calvin Spitznagle headlined the group by earning Player of the Year honors, a fitting recognition for one of the Trojans’ top leaders all season. Spitznagle also landed on the first-team all-conference list, joined by Jay Payne, giving Tree of Life two first-team selections.

The postseason recognition did not stop there. Pascal Geiss and Taylor Chou were both named second-team all-conference, underscoring the depth that helped power the Trojans throughout the year. Sam Kutnow earned special mention, Jordan Barnett received honorable mention, and Pete Mandeville was selected to the all-academic team, adding another point of pride for a program that paired on-court success with classroom achievement.

The evening served as a strong reflection of what Tree of Life built over the course of the season and the Trojans’ collection of honors showed impact at every level of the roster, from high-level attacking and front-row play to the steady contributions that often define a successful volleyball team over a full spring schedule.

For Tree of Life, the championship setting only amplified the moment. Individual awards in volleyball are often rooted in team success, and the Trojans’ presence across nearly every award category spoke to the consistency and competitiveness the program brought to the conference race. Spitznagle’s Player of the Year award gave the night its marquee moment, but the broader list of honorees made it clear this was a team effort from start to finish.
