Trojans Sweep Liberty Christian Behind Powerful Attack and Strong Defense

Tree of Life Christian School swept Liberty Christian 3-0 on Tuesday night, earning a 25-11, 26-24, 25-13 victory on its home floor in Columbus. The Trojans combined strong serving with a productive attack and determined defense, controlling the first and third sets while showing composure during a tight second-set finish.

Tree of Life established the tone with a commanding 25-11 win in the opening set. The Trojans put Liberty Christian under pressure from the service line, and Megan Donnally and Allie Coleman each delivered three aces in the match. That serving strength helped Tree of Life create attacking opportunities and limited Liberty Christian’s ability to settle into a consistent offensive rhythm.

Liberty Christian pushed back in the second set, giving the Trojans their toughest challenge of the evening. Tree of Life worked through the stutter and stayed steady in the key late exchanges, ending 26-24 to take a two-set lead. Donnally directed the offense with 33 assists, consistently putting the Trojans’ hitters in position to finish points.

Libby Homkes led the attack with 17 kills, while Coleman added 11 kills to her three aces for a strong all-around performance. At the net, Klark Wilkinson recorded five blocks, giving Tree of Life another effective answer to Liberty Christian’s attacks. The Trojans also received an excellent defensive effort from Emily Thorne, who collected 18 digs and helped keep rallies alive.

Tree of Life closed the match emphatically with a 25-13 victory in the third set. The combination of Homkes and Coleman at the pins, Donnally’s distribution, Wilkinson’s blocking and Thorne’s back-row defense gave the Trojans contributions across every phase of the match. After navigating the close second set, Tree of Life returned to form and finished the sweep with the same serving pressure and defensive discipline that sparked the opening set.
