Trojans sweep Patriot Prep in straight sets
Tree of Life Christian School turned in a sharp, balanced performance Thursday night, sweeping Patriot Prep 3-0 at home, 25-10, 25-11, 25-5. The Trojans controlled the match from the opening serve and used the lopsided win to spread playing time around while still maintaining steady pressure in every set.
The Trojans established the tone early in the first set, building separation with aggressive serving and clean finishing at the net. That edge only grew in the second set, when Tree of Life again kept Patriot Prep out of rhythm and stayed in control from start to finish. By the third set, the Trojans had full command of the floor and closed out the sweep with their most dominant stretch of the night in a 25-5 finish.
Serving was one of the biggest difference-makers for Tree of Life. Sam Kutnow and Evan Fenton each delivered five aces, helping the Trojans create quick runs and keep Patriot Prep on its heels. Those service runs gave Tree of Life extra momentum and made it difficult for the visitors to settle into consistent offensive possessions.
Offensively, Calvin Spitznagle led the way with 10 kills, giving the Trojans a dependable finisher throughout the match. Jordan Barnett added 13 assists and helped keep the attack moving, distributing the ball effectively as Tree of Life mixed lineups and still found plenty of production. The combination of strong serving, efficient setting and decisive swings allowed the Trojans to control nearly every phase of the match.
It was the kind of complete team outing that reflected both depth and energy on the home court. Tree of Life not only earned a convincing win, but also showed the value of a roster that can contribute across the board. On a night filled with aces, kills and steady execution, the Trojans gave the home crowd plenty to celebrate in a commanding straight-set victory.
