Trojans win over Grandview Heights in straight sets
Tree of Life Christian School’s boys volleyball team rolled past Grandview Heights 3-0 on Thursday night, winning 25-4, 25-6, 25-11. The Trojans controlled the match from the opening serve and never let Gradview Heights settle into a rhythm.
The Trojans set the tone immediately in the first set, building separation early and finishing with a 25-4 win. The Trojans kept the pressure on in the second set, again using efficient offense and steady ball control to claim a 25-6 decision. By the third set, the match had the same shape, with Tree of Life closing out the sweep at 25-11.
Several individual performances stood out in the victory. Pete Mandeville posted a hitting percentage of .800, a mark that reflected how consistently Tree of Life turned its attacks into points. Evan Fenton and Micah Smith were even more efficient, each recording a 1.000 hitting percentage in limited chances and helping the Trojans keep the offense sharp throughout the night.
The Trojans also got balanced work from the setter spot. Sam Kutnow and Jordan Barnett finished with six assists apiece, distributing the ball effectively and helping create clean attacking opportunities across the front row. That steady setup work kept Tree of Life in system and allowed the offense to stay aggressive without giving away points.
With lopsided wins in all three sets, Tree of Life showed depth and control in every phase, from serve pressure to finishing at the net. The straight-set result gave the Trojans a complete performance on their home floor and closed out their week with 3 wins.
