Broncos Blank Cedarburg 2-0 With Balanced Road Performance
CEDARBURG, Wis. - Union Grove turned its opening goal into the match-winner and added another for insurance in a 2-0 victory over Cedarburg on Thursday afternoon. The Broncos combined two finishes with a clean sheet, earning a road result in partly cloudy, 72-degree conditions.
The breakthrough supplied all the scoring Union Grove needed. With the defense keeping Cedarburg off the scoreboard, the Broncos doubled their advantage with a second goal and protected the two-goal margin through the final whistle. The performance allowed Union Grove to play from ahead while continuing to search for another opportunity in the attacking end.
Union Grove’s work without the ball was just as important as its two goals. The Broncos prevented Cedarburg from finding an answer and finished the match with a shutout, receiving a collective effort from the defensive unit and goalkeeper. Cedarburg ended the afternoon without a goal as Union Grove maintained its organization to close out the victory.
