On senior night, five seniors—Ava Gonzales, Natalie Hammes, Abby Johnson, Mia Wilks, and Camryn Smith—led Union Grove to a decisive 65-46 victory over Westosha, closing the regular season with a record of 17-7 and securing second place in the Southern Lakes Conference at 10-4. Holding a six-point lead at halftime, the Broncos intensified their defense and increased the pace of the game in the second half, allowing them to pull ahead. Union Grove's aggressive defense resulted in 15 steals, which they converted into several transition opportunities that Westosha struggled to keep up with in the second half. Camryn Smith had a standout performance for Union Grove, finishing with 15 points, eight rebounds, six assists, and six steals. She played a key role in several second-half runs by attacking the lane, finding open shooters, and disrupting passing lanes, helping the Broncos extend their lead to a comfortable margin. Perimeter shooting played a significant role in the game's outcome. The Broncos shot 43 percent from beyond the three-point arc, with guard Ruby Christiansen making 3 of 5 attempts from long range, contributing 13 points. Union Grove also converted 50 percent of its shots inside the arc, balancing their outside shooting with efficient scoring in the paint.

Natalie Hammes provided another key scoring punch with a game-high 16 points to go along with three steals, helping Union Grove maintain its defensive intensity throughout. Her activity at the top of the press and in the passing lanes contributed to Westosha’s turnover issues, particularly as the Broncos pulled away in the third and fourth quarters.

With the win over Westosha, the Broncos capped a strong regular season that featured consistent conference play and improvement on both ends of the court. Union Grove’s combination of perimeter shooting, aggressive defense and versatile guard play has positioned the team with momentum heading into postseason action after finishing second in the Southern Lakes Conference standings.

Union Grove will now turn its attention to the playoffs, looking to carry Friday’s defensive energy and efficient shooting into the next phase of the season.
