Broncos Fall 1-0 to Elkhorn in Conference Match
UNION GROVE, Wis. - Union Grove High School lost 1-0 to Elkhorn in a varsity soccer conference match Tuesday, Oct. 6, with the game's lone goal providing the difference. The Broncos finished one goal short of a tie as Elkhorn kept Union Grove off the scoreboard and secured the narrow victory.
The final score reflected a one-goal margin, with Union Grove allowing just one goal but unable to match it offensively. Elkhorn's shutout made that single score enough to decide the conference contest. For the Broncos, the result paired a limited opponent scoring total with a scoreless performance of their own.
The Elkhorn match began a stretch that includes both conference and nonconference opponents on Union Grove's schedule. After facing Kenosha Tremper on Thursday, the Broncos travel to Westosha Central for another conference game Tuesday, Oct. 13. They then return home to face Kenosha Bradford on Thursday, Oct. 15.
The immediate turnaround gives Union Grove two days between the Elkhorn result and its next match. Thursday's home contest against Kenosha Tremper is scheduled for 6:30 p.m., the same start time as Tuesday's game. The Broncos will look to bounce back in their next contest Thursday, Oct. 8, against Kenosha Tremper.
