Union Grove High School's prowess was on full display at the Wisconsin State Indoor Track & Field Championships held at UW-Whitewater on April 5, 2025. The Broncos, representing both boys and girls teams, showcased their talents in various events with notable performances, especially in pole vaulting and sprints. Ashley Lamers set a personal best in the 800m race, clocking in at 2:23.33, securing the 11th position. Her achievement was complemented by her equally impressive 11th place finish in the Girls Pole Vault, where she cleared 10'6". Meanwhile, Nathan Tucker sprinted to a 14th place finish in the highly competitive 60m Dash. The standout performance came from Sam Matuszek, who not only finished 4th in the Boys Pole Vault but also broke his own school record by clearing 14'. This achievement highlights the consistent improvement and skill Matuszek brings to the Broncos' roster. Hosted indoors due to the event's nature, the championship provided a controlled environment that allowed athletes like those from Union Grove to excel without the unpredictability of weather conditions. The Broncos' efforts at this prestigious event have set high expectations for their performances in future competitions.
