UNION GROVE, Wis. - Union Grove High School swept Badger 3-0 at home Tuesday, Oct. 13, closing its conference volleyball schedule with a senior-night victory.
Union Grove honored seniors Alaina Pitts, Ava Tempesta and Natalie Dallmann for their contributions to the volleyball program. The celebration recognized the hours they have devoted to the sport, along with their hard work, commitment and leadership. All three contributed to the straight-set win.
The Broncos opened with a 25-13 victory and followed with a 25-12 second set to move within one set of the sweep. Pitts supplied kills at the net, while Dallmann successfully attacked wide sets to add to the offense. Union Grove repeatedly put attacks directly onto Badger's floor, turning its offensive opportunities into points.
Defense and setting supported that production, giving the Broncos the foundation to execute at the net. Tempesta moved into the libero role for the third set and helped lead the defense as Union Grove finished the match with a 25-19 win. Badger made that set the closest of the night, but the Broncos completed the sweep without needing a fourth.
