Union Grove scored six runs in the fifth inning, which helped them defeat Burlington 11-1 on Thursday. Matthew Gruber singled, scoring one run, Tucker Katterhagen singled, scoring one run, Kevin Brau singled, scoring two runs, and Leo Weist singled, scoring two runs. Union Grove opened the scoring in the third after Dominic Pascucci singled, scoring one run. Kody Hage earned the win for Union Grove. The senior pitcher surrendered two hits and one run (zero earned) over six innings, striking out eight and walking one. Noah Ruleford took the loss for Burlington Demons. The starter went four and two-thirds innings, allowing seven runs on five hits, striking out four and walking two. Brau, led the way with three runs batted in. The infielder went 1-for-2 on the day. Weist and Gruber each collected two hits for Union Grove.
